Charlie Brown Chevrons

I finished my Charlie Brown Chevrons quilt.

I ♥ how this turned out.

I had it draped over the back of the couch and it looked so perfect there!
Like it was meant to be there.
But alas, this is going in the shop. :)

This was fun to make.  A little bit of challenges getting there, but I persevered
and it turned out...  Well, I think so. :)

Show me your Stache

I'm pretty sure this is the most awesome fabric.

I made a generously sized zipper pouch with it.
Perfect for all sorts of things, pens, pencils....

Or to horde your makeup in if you are like me.
I keep finding makeup bags everywhere with random lip glosses that
I forgot about.  Apparently I buy lip gloss like its going out of style.
I have a problem....I need help.
BUT - isn't this zipper pouch cute!??
It's listed in my store NOW!

Mug Rug

I needed a break from my other projects.

My coffee mug was desperately needing a new coaster.
Every time I picked up my drink, it would come with the coaster, which would then fall to my keyboard
or other working surface and splatter condensation everywhere.
Sigh.
It was annoying me.

I collect selvages from fabric.  I love them.  Don't ask why.
I don't know.  BUT, what a perfect project for them.
I took my favorite ones and paper pieced them.
It was just really simple, nothing fancy.  I didn't even get fancy or worry to much about the quilting,
as you can see on the back of the picture above.
I love that dictionary print fabric and I can't find anymore of it!
Anyone know where to get some?  It's from Moda.
Sorry - went off on a tangent.
Anyway-my little owl mug is very happy on it's new mug rug.

Pleated Wristlets

I attempted making pleated wristlets.
They are delightfully fun.

However, as my first attempt, this took me two days to make.
The pattern was a whopping 16 pages (includes 3 different sizes).
I don't do well with patterns.
HAHA.
I unpicked a few times, had to sit and ponder over the pattern instructions with some
intense brain power,
BUT, I can't wait to make more.
Hopefully I can get it down to a fortnight in the making?
We'll see. :)

Three WIP's

I've been working on 3 different projects.  This one will be called 'Teachers Pet'.

It is from the American Jane line, School Days.  It is so adorable and vintage looking.  I love it.  I straight line quilted it. Did I mention before it took me roughly 4 or more hours? Yah-something like that.
I lost count after the 4th hour. It was painful, but I love the result. Kind of a composition notebook type feel to go along with the school theme.  Donthca think?  I've just gotta sew the binding on this and it's done.

Oh Oh!  Lookie here!  Robots!!   Hooray! Some adorable Robot pinwheels.  This just needs to be basted (ugh). ;)  My 3rd WIP is a surprise.  Well, it's going to get it's very own special post later on.

Stay tuned.

Fabric Fuss

I basted yesterday.  You all know how MUCH I LOVE basting.  Hate it.
Then I did some straight line quilting on this quilt. It probably took me about 4 hours total. Ugh.
It was tiresome, BUT I love the end result, which I will show later. :)

We went out of town over the weekend.  I've been wanting to stop at this delightful fabric store in Orem, so on my way out of town, I did.  It was SO fun and they have tons of hard to find fabric that I usually end up having to order online!  Delightful!  I picked up these goodies and will be diving in and soon as 3 other quilts are done! LOL!  Needless to say, I can see having to drive to Orem for fabric in my near future.
Oh dear. ;)

Fabric Friendship Bracelets

Robot Daughter#1 and I made some fabric friendship bracelets last night using this tut from Noodlehead.   These were really fun and fast to make.  She picked out Hello Kitty fabric (of course) for hers, which I didn't get a pic of (again-she ran off with it).  My favorite of course is the butterfly (again!)  I happened to have some matching butterfly ribbon that coordinated perfect.  We started out using the floss and making braids for the ties, but it was time consuming, so I switched to ribbon.  I did put an owl charm on the yellow chevron bracelet tho, for luck. :)
Check out the tutorial and make yourself some!  Go...no really, go now!

Tote bags!

I whipped up some tote bags yesterday.  Super fun and easy.

This one is going in the shop.

It has a big pocket inside.

And my favorite key fabric. :)

This one is mine...of course - it has butterflies.
The other one was claimed by Robot Daughter #1...who took it with her today to carry her books to Grandma's house.  :)

Seriously?

206174_10150905021078380_3713251_n (1)

I'm borrowing this from Allison @ Cluck Cluck Sew.  How hilarious is this??  I don't get my 'hair in order' for work, let alone for sewing!  And I CERTAINLY don't fear my husband will see me in the shambles that I am, whilst I sew.  I usually am in my pajamas, with thread all over me...and yet, he still loves me!
Oh the joys of living in 1949!  Wow.  I have a similar sentiment in my vintage Betty Crocker cookbook.  It's a good thing I wasn't born back then.  I would probably be a spinster...left home alone with only my sewing machine, no lipstick on, my hair not done... because I am unsuitable for a gentleman.  HAHAHA!

Foxy Curves

I've been working on finishing a bunch of UFO's.
I finally finished the Crazy Curves quilt!

My oldest Robot Daughter claimed this for her own, so I let her pick out what fabric she wanted for the back.  Of course, who wouldn't pick the cute little hedgehogs?  :)
I used the foliage print for the binding.

I had no idea how to quilt this. I didn't want to disrupt the circles, so I went around them in a block border, then on the borders surrounding the quilt, I did a stipple.
This quilt is definately not my most cherished of all things I've accomplished, but Robot Daughter #1 loves it to pieces and that is ALL that matters to me. :)

Next up:  Robot quilt to finish (Yes!  An actual Robot quilt!)
Started a special quilt:  Stay tuned!
