Baby Jane Churn |
Made entirely out of Baby Jane and a coordinating mint green solid (Aqua, Bella Solid by Moda). I used the Missouri Star churn dash tutorial on using a layer cake. I still have 1/2 a cake left!! Woohoo! This is throw size, perfect for me. This was super easy, and no waste! Even better.
I mixed it up a little, using a solid background on two of the blocks. It fits my 'modern-traditional' style to a T. A little bit of old and a little splash of new. :)
It's no surprise that I ♥ a good text print, but this one had me at the little quotes...I especially love this one. 'Live the life you love, love the life you live'. ♥
Yup. Enough said.

Yummy binding |
You can find me here....relaxing in the cool evenings with my very own quilt. ♥ Oh, and um, my other 'very own' quilt, is coming soon...I have two quilts stacked and ready for binding...so you might find me snuggled up under those. ;)

I might need to make something similar. I have a layer cake just waiting to be used, and almost 3 yards of solid that I purchased for another project. Good for you, making a quilt for yourself! It's beautiful!

ReplyDeleteOoooh I love it! Congratulations on your selfish sewing! I got mine done late on Monday too, haha (another Washi). I figure it still counts, even if not officially. That blue background solid you chose is an absolute knockout. I love non-white backgrounds!
ReplyDeleteLove this quilt! I love Baby Jane and have wanted to do something in this line and the churndash just seems perfect. Great job!
ReplyDeleteWow, who knew half a layer cake could go so far? It looks great and coordinates perfectly with your outdoor seating. :) Looks like a perfect spot to enjoy an evening.

ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous quilt! I don't think I've ever made a churndash block... Hmmm, might need to remedy that ;) Thanks so much for linking up!
