A Short Bicycle Post

A very lovely friend of mine, asked me to make a little curtain to hide some storage she had under a shelf.
She loves bicycles, so she picked out this adorable fabric, and I sewed it up.  Rather easy peasy. But I think it looks so cute and I was amazed it fit perfect!  I'm not so good with the math - so it was touch and go there until it made it's way back to Texas and she sent me the picture.  I'm so glad it worked out!! ;)

Happy Friday!

I was featured!

A huge thank you to Jenn from Knotted-Thread for featuring me on her awesome Follower Friday's.
Check it out
here.  If you haven't seen her Retro Flowers quilt around the web, where have you been?  No, I'm kidding.  But it is my favorite quilt and inspired me to try out the Retro Flowers, which is a lot harder than I thought.  It's um, in my UFO pile.

I've been rather MIA lately.   Things have been very crazy and time just keeps escaping me.  I did manage to finish this quilt though, which took me a lot longer than necessary.   My sewing machine has been rather neglected of late. :(

In the shop

I LOVE the fabric for the back...Owls and little deers and bunnies. Oh My!
Too cute.

Hope you all have a lovely week!

The 'Sewing Slump'

I've been in a sewing slump. :(  I'm not quite sure why, but it's very disconcerting.
I did manage to make this cute feather stash bag.
It's in the shop.

I've been working on my 3rd Chevron quilt, but it's taking a while, due to the 'slump'. :(

I've got to get over it!  I've got quilts to make!
I am sure it will be fine.  Anyone suffering this?
I'm thinking it may be end of summer blues. HAHA.  Now that it's getting chilly, I think the chill
will definitely invoke some sewing time.
Right?  :)

My Red Scooter Quilt

I changed the name of this quilt to 'My Red Scooter'.
Sometimes quilts have names before they are even finished, some of them are difficult to name.
This one was a hard one for some reason.

It was fun to make though.

I love the white fabric for the back with the little blue birds.

And, of course - a stripe-y binding. :)

Next up, another Chevron quilt. A girl can never have enough Chevron Quilts.

I am linking this up to Lily's Quilts.  She is hosting an awesome Small Blog Meet linky party.  What a fun idea!  Go check it out...her blog is awesome.  And take a look at her Union Jack quilt.  O.my.goodness.  Beautiful.
I recently bought a pattern to start Union Jack's and I am a wee bit nervous, I am not going to lie.  But, it's on my 'to tackle list'.  ;)

Scoot Baby

I've been sick all weekend, but I have been working on this.
I picked this up as a quilt kit from my local quilt shop.
I'm in love with kits - especially when I'm trying something new, like ensuring the color pattern is placed correctly.  If you remember, the Rainbow Hourglass quilt took me an entire day to figure out the color placement.

I'm just finishing up the binding, while I lay in bed trying to get rid of this nasty cold..

I also tried a new technique (new to me).  Zig-zagging the edges of the quilt after I've machine sewed on the front of the binding.  I hate all the loose threads that sneak out of the binding after I've washed it.  This should hopefully clear up that pesky issue. :)

How was your weekend?  What are you working on?

A Pony Pillow

My 8 year old wanted to make a pillow out of her favorite pair of jammies.
We had a sewing night and whipped this up together.   We fussy cut out the pony that was the PJ top.  Then we took the brown polka dot print, which was the PJ bottoms, and cut them up for the borders.
It was a fun sewing bonding project for mama and daughter. :)

I bought this fabric on sale and didn't realize it was a fleece type material, which I don't normally use.
It worked perfect for tying this together.  She ♥'s it.  That's all that matters.

Stuff

For lack of a better title, here is a look at some 'stuff' I made this weekend. :)

Mew Mew Zipper Pouch

I Heart Cupcakes Zipper pouch

Sneak peek - Out to Sea quilt top

Have I told you how much I am in love with the 'Out to Sea' line of fabric?? Well, if not, I'm SO in ♥ with it!
It's too cute.  I bought a huge fat quarter pack from here and I think I just might be able to gently squeeze 3 quilts out of it.  Woohoo!!
